Fixed everything! I am done editing the film opening and am almost completely done editing the CCR. I am excited with the way it is coming out! It is due later tonight, so I do need to hurry! Got to go!

Editing Issues

I know that I only need a few a week but I am having issues and I thought I'd write about them here. So the final project is due in what 27 hours and I am about to start sobbing right now. I have finished filming my CCR and about 85% done editing it. It took me all day because there was an issue with premiere in which it said that there was an issue with the application. I tried and tried but the only issue to get around it was to shut off the computer and because I had not saved it frequently, I lost like 1.5 hours of work. I eventually redid it but it cost me a lot of time. I will hopefully finish this project by tonight or early tomorrow afternoon after school. 

Now I am editing the second half of the official film opening video and am having issues with that. We decided to split the work and Isa is finally done with her part of the editing and now that it's my turn it's showing that April (one of the main characters)'s voice is practically muted everytime she speaks and you can barely hear anything. She says on her end it's fine so I don't know what the problem is or why it is happening. Alright well I am exhausted and  am trying not to go to bed until I at least fix this issue so I am going to go.

Filming CCR and editing

I finished the script yesterday for the CCR and even started filming some of the video but I had also taken my ACT yesterday and was tired so I headed to bed and decided to film the rest today. I was thinking that I could do part of the video while I am driving but then I won't be able to look into the camera so I decided to make a coffee stop where I will film some things in the Starbucks parking lot and then transition to the beach. I actually created an instagram account under the name TheLoveShack2022 as a way to advertise the film. I am hoping to be able to go to the same beach to film the scene there so that I can show the Dania Pier in my video but today is a little bit crazy for my parents since we have family in town and only have one car.

I am about halfway done filming the video. I did half of the scene in the beginning that takes place in Ricky (AKA my brother's) room, and I will be on my way to film the scene in the parking lot in 30 minutes I hope. This means that I need to rush today to finish my CCR video and then edit both videos which will definitely take a while but I can stay up late tonight. I do have a mock exam for AICE Info tech along with a math test, but it's every other class so in the period before if I have any free minutes I can review then.

Editing and starting CCR script

So Yesterday we finished filming the last scenes at the beach (it was pretty quick - didn't take more than 45 minutes to film). It was looking cloudy,but also was looking like it was going to start raining any second. Funny enough 20 minutes after we finished it began to pour and we rain out of there as fast as possible. 

I need to edit the film opening ASAP but I might start writing my script for the CCR. I actually thought of a cool way to do the CCR video. I am going to make it in a youtube vlogging (video blogging) style and take the camera places that I filmed places that I filmed certain scenes that are included in the film opening. I think that it will come out very well because I can make it in a way that I need to answer all the questions I am being asked, but I am still making it in a fun and casual way.

Production Company Name!

Production Company Name! 

My partner (Isa) and I have decided on our production company name! We wanted to have a creative name but also wanted to have one that would be personal and represent our project and group members. We were thinking of doing something with our names. Some of our options are listed below...

We have decided to go with NovaStaab because we like the way it sounds. It sounds somewhat official: A NovaStaab Production. The film opening will start with a black screen and then we will use a 24ft Billy Ohio font to display our company name. We will likely use the same font to display the production name LOVE SHACK (in all caps) but we have spoken about making it more stiff, so who knows.

Update on filming

So this week has been productive as far as filming goes but it’s also my last break before the crazy testing season that will begin for me in 3 weeks and end June 2nd. My partner and I got the individual filming done and will finish filming (the beach scene) next weekend. Overall, the filming process was very fast because we had planned a lot of stuff ahead of time. For instance, we did a storyboard and script. We have planned for the entire film opening so it should be no different for the beach scene where the two meet. 

I was thinking of editing the two scenes we have right now this weekend so that I don’t have to worry about editing the final video. Unfortunately this week has gone by very fast and I haven’t had a chance to even start editing. We are currently planning times for next weekend to film so I will update you on that!

STARTED FILMING!!!

As you can see in the title of this post, I finally started filming today! I shot all of Ricky's scenes except for the ones at the beach as those need to be shot with both April and Ricky there together. Because I had made a script, it was a lot easier to film than I expected and we were done within 35 minutes! I really enjoyed the way it came out! 

I can always go back and re-film some scenes, but for now I think we're good. My brother (named Lucas) did a pretty good job at remembering his lines and although there were some funny bloopers, it was a productive and effective shooting day. I am proud with the way it came out. I filmed extra because it's always better to have more than less and even did individual voice recordings for each line so that if necessary, we can use the video and replace the audio with the voice memos one. This is another sneak peak!!

Set Design: CHECK!

All of the props arrived and I finally finished setting up the room! My dad even had some old posters and records that he let me borrow for filming purposes. Overall, the room looks better than I expected and I am very excited to begin filming. My brother (who is playing Ricky) already put together a schedule for filming tomorrow! We will add some last minute props if necessary but are planning to film from about 1:00 pm till 2:15 pm. I attached some pictures of the set design below!

SNEAK PEAK!!!

Isa (my partner) is currently in Argentina so she filmed right before leaving. I am filming this upcoming week and we will edit together when she gets back after having filmed the "meet cute" scene. Isa used one of her friends as an actress and filmed the scenes with April. Everything looked great with the set design. Luckily since we had planned so intensively, it did not take her very long. These is a sneak peaks!

I just ordered everything for filming purposes and I am excited. Everything comes by Wednesday so I will hopefully be done filming by Thursday. This is what I ordered.
